New Video up-Live @ Percy Priest Lake-Going Going Gone

Greetings to you all! Today was a little like the "Sound of Music" I went on a bike ride with my friends and their family through the streets along the coast of Whitstable, England and we were all in a line and the kids were singing.  We all had on our helmets and I had on my winter gear!! (cause I was freezing, geez!! It's cold to me :0) People looked at me funny because of my scarf, thick jacket, and hat.  Lots of people along the beach were in swimsuits.  I thought to myself that they must be crazy and I am sure they thought the same about me.

The sad thing...is that I got a bit under the weather and then wasn't able to visit my good friend, Thomas, in London to hang out :0(

I wanted to put up something tonight...so I edited a new video that Amy Pratt and I made down at Percy Priest Lake in Nashville a few months ago. Click here to see the video.  You are the first to view it.

You can also visit my YOUTUBE video site to see many more.

Thanks for coming along with me on this journey.  In two weeks I you can come into the recording studio with me and get the behind the scenes look at the new record!

Bless ya!

I am making a new record in England in June :o)

Well, news news.  It's official! I am going to be recording my next record right here in England! June 15th I am heading up north to Leeds to record for a week with my friend Ben!  It's gonna be an indie folk grassroots album with all new tunes.  I have been so aching to record these songs.  My last release/EP, "Starting Today", was in 2006.  Do you think it's about it's about time that I get some of these new tunes out to you? I do.   :0)

Here are some of the songs that I am thinking to record. If you've heard them, maybe at a live show, in my living room, or on my youtube site , then what are your favorites? Tell me.

Going, Going, Gone
Fire in the Night
Loud and Clear
Stranded in Nostalgia
Baby, We Belong Together
Kenya
My Bags Are Packed
I Will Trust You
The Palm of Your Hand
Safe Inside
Beautiful, Everything I Want
Love, Love, Love
Wake Up Girl
Feels Like I'm on the Outside
Somethin' in My Bones
Heart Bursts Open

Well, here is a photo of the sunrise outside of my bedroom window here in Whitstable.

Blessings and goodnight!

On the Docks of Whitstable

Today I went down to the sea in Whitstable.  Barbara, a new friend from the Czech Republic joined me on this sunny day.  There were lots of docks, loads of fresh seafood, little "beach houses" , boats, people eating ice cream and sitting on the beach.

We walked around for 4 hours :0) exploring.  I went into a few live music venues and chatted with them about maybe doing an acoustic show or writers night-would be great to play here in Whitstable.  Here are some photos!

Whitstable, England-The Leddy's

So, I am visiting these lovely friends of mine! We've played lots of soccer, went bowling, walked around the city, went to dinner and also made some tacos.  These two photos are of the onion chopping crew! Their eyes were watering so I told them that they need goggles, and funny enough they had goggles! Too funny! They cracked me up.
Here are the Leddy folks! Good wine and good company=good times :0) I love love love these friends! Hugs and blessings to you!

I arrived safely in England! Also..the English gentleman, David...

Greetings from the southeastern coast of England!

The flight over went pretty great! I met an English gentleman on the plane, David, who builds high-tech docks all over the world.  He also enjoys cooking.  He told me of a recipe that he loves and I will share it with you.

Cod Filets w/ Capers
Heat Olive Oil in a pan..add anchovies (or just garlic if you aren't an anchovy fan)
Then, flour batter cod filets on both sides.  Then the filets in the oil.
Add small garden tomatoes, garlic and capers.

and he told me how to make an English traditional speciality...

Yorkshire Pudding

Take heated goose fat drippings (if you find that, I will be surprised :0)...Get it "flash hot" as David says.  Pour a little into the bottom of muffin tins.  Use the British pancake mixture (it's a little more crepe-like than the American one) and fill the muffin tin with it.  Bake it on 350 for about 20 minutes!

If either of these sound good to you then check them out and let me know how it turned out! You can send a photo of it to me at tammyrochelle@gmail.com and I will put it up on the blog :0)

Thanks for reading!  I will keep you updated!

Cheers!~

Hey Hey! This weekend I am playing in Emerald Isle, NC and Bogue/Newport, NC!  The MAX Entertainment magazine from the coastal NC area put me on the cover of the mag today and did an article on what I am up to.  They are pretty great :0)

Tammy Rochelle will host two local shows before heading out to tour and help others

By Aniesa Holmes
• Daily News Staff

For more than a dozen years, Tammy Rochelle has shared her music with the world, but the Jacksonville native says there’s no place like home. “My family is here and I love the coast. It’s the feeling of home that you can’t replace no matter where you go,” she said. The folk-rock singer/songwriter headed for Nashville 12 years ago to pursue her dream as a musician and has since turned it into a worldwide mission. She splits her time between North Carolina, Tennessee
and wherever her music leads her abroad.

Before she heads back to Europe to kick off her two-month summer tour on May 24, Rochelle will give two shows to local fans on May 15-16 in Emerald Isle and Bogue.  “The huge audiences are thrilling and vibrant and the more people, the more energy you have,” she said. “Smaller venues are more intimate like you’re hanging out with friends and you have to look people in the eyes and you have to be real. It’s a little more intimidating but I love it just
the same.”

Rochelle has independently released four albums since 2000 and toured in fi ve continents including performances at the 2000 World’s Fair and the World Cup Kickoff events in Germany. “Starting Today” is her latest release and she is also recording her acoustic album titled “Tammy Rochelle -The Living Room” at her home studio.  “It’s like dancing alone in your room and you can record at home you don’t have the pressure of a music engineer and musicians,” she said. “That part has been so much more rewarding because I can express myself more.”

Since her 2000 self-titled debut, Rochelle’s music has served as a timeline through her life, exploring heartbreak and emerging womanhood with a spiritual side of hope and redemption. Her style of rock, folk, bluegrass, reggae and blues mixed with exotic and traditional instruments have shaped Rochelle’s style and helped her build her own inspirational brand.

“(It’s) a journey to find who you are,” Rochelle said. “I’ve been writing a lot more Americana-driven music with a touch of bluegrass — it’s like coming back to my roots. The characteristics in my voice are more mature, and my voice has gotten stronger.”

Rochelle looks forward to rekindling her romance with the crowds in England and Germany this summer. She will also have a guest spot on the U.K.’s BBC radio to talk about her new album and other endeavors.
“The more you go into Eastern Europe they’re more humble and happy to have
good music and be appreciative,” she said. “It’s not bad to get to see sites in Europe and I only travel on train. It takes longer but you get to see the countryside and meet interesting people.”

Rochelle is also an abstract expressionism painter and jewelry maker. Since last May, she has created 60 paintings and
been featured in art shows in Wilmington and Nashville.  “I saw a video of (Mitchell) performing live and I thought she had the coolest earrings,” she said. “So I went to beauty store to buy some beads and I made some earrings like hers ...” Rochelle will present her jewelry collection during her concert at Beans-N-Screens CafĂ© in Emerald Isle on May 15.

“For me it was very exciting to present a new side. It’s another way to get out the beauty that I’ve seen and bring joy into other people’s lives,” she said. Rochelle has gained inspiration from singers like Paul Simon, Carole King and Joni Mitchell. She also admires their sense of style.

When she isn’t performing on stage or showcasing in an art gallery, Rochelle finds time to give back through organizations like Compassion International and World Sports Missions in Kenya. During her visits, she helped raise money to provide food, clothing and education to poverty-stricken families in third world countries.

“I guess that’s another part of the music industry, to use those abilities to help other people …,” she said.
“Starting Today,” is available at www.tammyrochelle.com and www.cdbaby.com.
